INDUSTRIAL PAINTER

LPI, Inc. (www.lpi-inc.com), a leading manufacturer of industrial personnel lift systems and elevated work platforms, and a subsidiary company of Plank Enterprises, Inc., is searching for an INDUSTRIAL PAINTER.  As a team member of our paint department, you will:  Prepare and paint parts and assemblies by grinding, washing, priming, painting or similar activities in compliance with quality standards, drawing requirements and product data sheets.  We are searching for a team player that can work in cooperation with other painters and departments to minimize delays, comply with schedule, meet or exceed standard times, and contribute to the future success of the company.

Essential DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES as an INDUSTRIAL PAINTER:

  • Proficient at preparing parts and weldments by washing, applying paint coatings, mixing and managing chemicals, while meeting quality and product efficiency standards.
  • Clean, maintain, and repair paint spray equipment, along with cleaning paint booth and changing paint booth filters.
  • Able to complete wet or dry mill tests, recognize colors and surface finish characteristics.
  • Able to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings/instructions.
  • Report inconsistencies and/or defects in material, product, or equipment.
  • Accurately record labor and work order information.
  • Complete operator equipment and maintenance checklists.
  • Track and maintain chemical inventory levels/amounts.
  • Able to use various hand and power tools as assigned.
  • Able to operate forklifts, jibs, and cranes safely.
  • Able to wear a cartridge style respirator.
  • Required to pass and maintain qualifications for Respiratory Protection Physical, Respirator Fit Test and Pulmonary Function Test.

SKILLS and ABILITIES needed for this INDUSTRIAL PAINTER position:

  • Self-motivated with demonstrated initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Strong problem solving and judgment skills.
  • Able to prioritize work and multi-task.
  • Able to calculate basic mathematic functions including ratios, volumes, etc.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in paint application, mixing, and chemical management preferred.
