Engineered Versatility, From Concept to Commissioning

At LPI Lifts, we can help solve your access challenges with custom lifts. When engineering lifts for specialty applications, we customize an existing proven LPI Lift platform or fully engineer a new solution to meet your individual operational, safety or environmental requirements. Our design is driven by the application, the needs of the operator and real-world workflows.

What Makes an Application Specialty?

If you’re wondering whether your application requires a custom-engineered lift, here are a few common scenarios that benefit from specialty solutions:

  • Unusual work envelopes or reach requirements
  • Obstructions at floor, wall or overhead levels
  • Hazardous or harsh environments
  • Repetitive tasks requiring precise positioning
  • Multiple operators or tools on a single platform
  • Integration with existing equipment or structures

Our Customization Capabilities

Our sales and engineering teams work closely with you to fully customize lifts to serve your specialty application. We can gather your list of specifications and requirements to ensure the lift equipment is the right solution. We can visit you on-site to better understand the scope of work.

Our customization capabilities encompass areas like:

Our team designs the platform to suit your specific parts and tooling, as well as the clearances you need. We discuss details like the needed envelope, height and reach requirements, load capacity, and duty cycle to build custom lifts with the specifications you need.

We engineer lifts with vertical, horizontal and extension movement, depending on the number of axes your work requires. We can also determine the most suitable drive system and customize the speed and acceleration.

We’ll match controls and power to your specific needs, including options such as explosion-proof pneumatic-hydraulic or electric-hydraulic systems. We can integrate control options like foot controls or remote power units, depending on what best suits your application.

We integrate physical barriers and emergency controls to enhance operational safety. We can also program interlocks to prevent operation unless all safety conditions are met.

We can specify materials, seals and finishes, confirming any hazards or classifications. We’ll ensure the design meets your operating conditions and is compatible with the environment where it will be used.

LPI offers an option for trained technicians to assist with the start-up and installation of your LPI industrial lifts which includes training for both your operators and your maintenance personnel. This service is also available after the sale as a refresher or augmentation to your current training or maintenance program. To learn more about Lift Operator Training, Start-Up Installation, and Lift Maintenance Programs, please contact LPI customer service or call 1-800-657-6956

Lifts should be inspected at least once a year, and more often if they’re used heavily or in harsh environments. Key wear items should be checked during routine maintenance, and any parts showing damage or excessive wear should be replaced right away. We recommend following your facility’s safety practices along with the inspection and maintenance guidance outlined in ANSI A92.22 Sections 5.4 and 5.5 to keep your lift operating safely and reliably.

Installation instructions are located in the Operators Manual that comes with your lift system (located in the plastic holder in the operator platform). Lifts should only be installed by qualified personnel. If you have any questions with regard to the installation of your lifts, please contact LPI customer service or call 1-800-657-6956.
