Industrial surface-finishing lifts are aerial work platforms (AWPs) designed to help lift people to the right height and position to complete finishing tasks safely, efficiently and comfortably. Common applications for customized industrial lifts include: pretreatment and wash down, painting, blasting, sanding and buffing, powder coating, and surface inspections and quality control.
Surface-treatment personnel lifts from LPI deliver tangible benefits.
Working at heights with ladders and scaffolding is dangerous and inefficient, particularly when it requires frequent relocation of equipment. Once at the right height, workers must often still reach, twist or stretch to get the job done — another potential for employee injury. LPI standard and customized lifts eliminate these issues by providing a stable, adjustable and ergonomic platform that allows workers to complete their tasks without compromising their safety or comfort.
Modern manufacturing presents unique accessibility challenges, with irregularly shaped or oversized parts and facilities filled with essential machinery and equipment. Our sales and engineering team can recommend a design ideal for your specific application and environment, streamlining workflows through the ability to navigate over and around parts and obstacles.
Multiple lift mechanisms, such as scissor lifts and mast lifts, are available to suit different industries and applications. Our equipment can be customized for specific surface-finishing techniques. For example, we offer models with auxiliary air hookups, tip-out platforms, breathing air connection points or conveyor interlock integration.
Additional options include configurable control locations and types, additional axes of movement, and festooning or flex-track systems for hose management. We can also tailor the lift with task lighting that’s explosion-proof or hazardous-location rated for the unique operating environment.
Beyond safety, access and versatility, our surface-finishing lifts represent a smart long-term investment. They eliminate the need to consistently relocate equipment as workflows progress, reducing downtime. Plus, lifts help lower supply usage and operator fatigue, further increasing efficiency.
Overcoming Surface Finishing Challenges:
Effective surface finishing demands access to all areas of a product, regardless of its size or shape. Tackling these challenges with conventional equipment for working at height often means inefficiency, reduced safety and awkward postures.

LPI offers an option for trained technicians to assist with the start-up and installation of your LPI industrial lifts which includes training for both your operators and your maintenance personnel. This service is also available after the sale as a refresher or augmentation to your current training or maintenance program. To learn more about Lift Operator Training, Start-Up Installation, and Lift Maintenance Programs, please contact LPI customer service or call 1-800-657-6956
Lifts should be inspected at least once a year, and more often if they’re used heavily or in harsh environments. Key wear items should be checked during routine maintenance, and any parts showing damage or excessive wear should be replaced right away. We recommend following your facility’s safety practices along with the inspection and maintenance guidance outlined in ANSI A92.22 Sections 5.4 and 5.5 to keep your lift operating safely and reliably.
Installation instructions are located in the Operators Manual that comes with your lift system (located in the plastic holder in the operator platform). Lifts should only be installed by qualified personnel. If you have any questions with regard to the installation of your lifts, please contact LPI customer service or call 1-800-657-6956.
